I, however, didn’t question the use of Bronski Beat’s classic 80’s track Why? as the background music for a chase/murder sequence in modern exploitation classic Avenging Angel.
Why?, of course, was one of the first rallying cries for queer acceptance. But Jimmy Sommerville’s determined chanting of “You and me together, fighting for our love” works surprisingly well as AA‘s guardian detective (played by handsome Robert F. Lyons) tries, frantically, to save a comely co-worker’s life.
