Music to Make Horror Movies By: Sizzy Rocket

Published September 14, 2025 by biggayhorrorfan

After proudly asserting her status as a queer artist in a Paper Magazine article in 2019, the hyperkinetic Sizzy Rocket released a duo of full-length pop-rock recordings – a great intro for her recent batch of aggressively fun singles and EPS. This bold artistic output has even proven to be a boon for episodic horror lovers.

Her song Spill my Guts decorated a confessional scene in the series version of I Know What You Did Last Summer. Her inclusion there seemed especially apt as several of the main characters in that slasher reboot were either gay or bisexual. Nicely that same year, another tune, Running with Scissors, embellished an episode of Locke and Key, the adaptation of the popular comic created by modern horror wunderkind Joe Hill.

Unapologetically sex positive and proud of her rebellious indie artist status, Rocket’s latest slab of sonic greatness, Kitten Teeth, was just released to streaming services this summer. The fact that she offers up a majestic cover of Nine Inch Nail’s Closer on it gives gothic and industrial enthusiasts, two music genres long associated with fright fans, something else to be very happy about, as well.

Music to Make Horror Movies By: Scott Free

Published September 6, 2020 by biggayhorrorfan

On the rare moments when one is able twist a thought or two away from the many social disasters that are plaguing us, it’s easy to remember that the world is actually populated with a ton of cool people. Sometimes, if you’re lucky, you got to associate with one or two of them. LGBTQIA musician and activist Scott Free has been a longstanding voice for queer artists in Chicago, hosting a decades long performance showcase called Homolatte and being a very loud reminder to queer festival organizers that actually booking gay acts is a necessity for their events to be a true source of pride and awareness.

A few years ago, we spent a lot of time together working on a show called Zombie Bathhouse: A Rock Musical. To this day, friends still tell me how his lyrics for that project totally nailed aspects of their own lives, a true testament to his empathy and talent. His latest work, The Last Revolution, is a social call to arms that has deservedly gotten tons of praise and attention and, as with the majority of his work, really raises an eye on the tremulous circumstances that we are now facing as a nation.

Obviously, it almost goes without saying, that It’s truly been my honor to know Scott as a collaborator and friend and it’s truly my pleasure to welcome you to visit more of his fine output at http://www.scottfree.net/ and http://www.zombiebathhouse.net/.

Music to Make Horror Movies By: Fifth Harmony

fifth harmony monster 2

The ladies of Fifth Harmony may have found that one’s personal creativity is the scariest thing to a group’s equilibrium, as standout member Camila Caballo’s exit has left them a hiatus bound foursome.

But in the dark ages of 2015, the quintet were dealing with other gruesome realities as witnessed by their contribution to the Hotel Transylvania 2 soundtrack, I’m in Love with a Monster!

Of course, all should be fine with the talented members of this outlet. Fearlessly bisexual member Lauren Jauregui, in particular, should go far, as evidenced by Strangers, her evocative collaboration with Halsey.
